Young & Jackson is a heritage-listed Melbourne CBD hotel and pub established in 1861 on the corner of Swanston and Flinders streets, directly opposite Flinders Street Station and Federation Square. The ground-floor public bar — visible from the street and walk-in only — pours a large tap list (What's On Melbourne cites 27 beers and three ciders; MapQuest lists 30+ taps) with pub classics, burgers and morning coffee when the corner operates as Y&J's Cafe. Upstairs, Chloe's Dining Room (first floor) serves modern Australian lunch and dinner with steaks, fresh seafood, shared plates and a weekday lunch set menu; bookings are online or by phone seven days, and the pub menu is not served in Chloe's. Chloe's Bar pairs tapas with the famous nude Chloe portrait that has hung in the hotel since 1909. A rooftop cider bar rounds out drinks across the venue. The building is on the Victorian Heritage Register and remains one of the city's oldest continually operating hotels.
