About Us
Family-run Indonesian fusion restaurant at shop 1 in a Franklin Street tower near Fulton Lane, founded by brothers Dion and Michael Sanusi after a home experiment with house-made salted egg yolk sauce grew into a CBD venue (official Our Story, Taste of Indonesia). The bright casual dining room has floor-to-ceiling glass, an open kitchen, lush planting and robot table runners that deliver dishes — a hit with families (Time Out, diner reviews). Walk-ins are welcome alongside phone reservations; pick-up, Uber Eats and DoorDash are listed on Taste of Indonesia. Menu spans signature salted-egg noodle and chicken plates, Jakarta-style martabak manis (homepage promotes Tim Tam martabak), nasi uduk betawi, beef rendang, geprek sambal bowls and rotating specials such as mie curry — traditional Indonesian family recipes with imported spices and in-house sambals. Halal-friendly with vegetarian-adaptable options including gado gado and fried tempeh (HappyCow). Sister venue Kata Kita at Melbourne Central is a separate Sanusi family restaurant.
