About Us

Georgian lounge, café and bar on Glen Huntly Road near Elsternwick station, opened in 2014 by owner Temo Zorella after a promise made during his 2009 move to Australia — the venue name comes from the umbrella left behind in his shipping container. The Weebly site and dinner à la carte menu serve khachapuri, khinkali, ostri, shashliki and other homestyle Georgian plates influenced by Zorella's late mother's recipes, alongside late breakfast and lunch. Regular live music spans jazz pianists, the Umbrella Trio/Jumbalumba, Barry Cribbin's love-song sets and Sunday afternoon bands per Elsternwick Village listings; the venue also books its restaurant and rear beer garden for functions by phone. Warm, community-focused room with Georgian wines and generous portions — one of Melbourne's few dedicated Georgian addresses. Google Maps lists the venue OPERATIONAL (Jun 2026); Elsternwick Village promoted an in-venue garage sale 22 May–14 June 2026.
