Descend the stairs off Collins Street into a basement British pub that has traded in the CBD for more than three decades — low ceilings, Victorian Holmes theming and Mrs Hudson's Pantry turning out classic pub plates Monday–Saturday. The 2025 menu centres on full-pastry Steak & Guinness pie, bangers & mash, shepherd's pie, fish & chips, parmas, schnitzels, roasts and British desserts, with 19 beers on tap (Carlton Draught, Coopers, Hobgoblin, Tennents, Kilkenny, Guinness and more) plus hand-pumped ales. Upstairs at street level, Dr Watson's Bar offers cocktails, wine and finger food behind a wide Collins Street window.
