About The Cypriot Kitchen

The Cypriot Kitchen is Melbourne's first Cypriot pop-up food stall, founded in 2015 by Dennis and Alex Charalambous. Trading at markets and events across Melbourne — most regularly at the Queen Victoria Market Night Market — the stall serves traditional Cypriot dishes including chicken souvla, halloumi chips, koupes, and sheftalies, all prepared from family recipes passed down through generations. The business also offers catering for private events and sells Cypriot food products through its online shop.

From diners

  • On my first visit, I tried the Souvla, tender chicken slow cooked over charcoal, and served with chips. On another visit, I had the Souvla & salad, which is more to my preference. The Cypriot grain salad, grilled pita bread, and sweet yoghurt made it feel fresher, lighter, and more satisfying to me.
