Tavlin is a kosher Israeli street-food restaurant on Carlisle Street in Balaclava, opened by chef Adi Daboush in October 2012 after travels through the Middle East and family recipes from Damascus, Tripoli and Tel Aviv. The Carlisle Street shopfront (opened 2018 after the original South Caulfield site closed in 2019) serves falafel, shawarma, hummus bowls, sabich, pita and laffa wraps and loaded fries for dine-in or takeaway, with Syrian spices, daily prep and a Tel Aviv street-food atmosphere. Under Kosher Australia supervision; also offers on-site functions and off-site catering. Google Maps lists the venue as operational with ~880 reviews (~4.4 stars); Broadsheet updated its listing February 2025.
