Street Taste CBD is the Elizabeth Street outpost of a Melbourne street-food chain (also Preston and Carlton), opened circa 2024 near Melbourne Central. Walk-in only — no reservations at this site. The room is a dark, casual counter-service space with Mexican art and a menu built around birria tacos (slow-cooked brisket or chicken with adobo, cheese, pickled onion and consommé for dipping), Baja fish and char-grilled chicken tacos, Mexican loaded fries, classic nachos, slow-cooked signature beef ribs, smashed cheese burgers and birria sandwiches, plus frozen margaritas, mocktails and Mexican beers. A lunch combo of any two tacos plus a soft drink runs about $19 (May 2026). Halal-friendly menu items are offered; alcoholic drinks are also served. Google Maps lists the venue as operational with Mon–Thu 11am–9pm, Fri 11am–10pm, Sat noon–10pm and Sun noon–9pm (June 2026).
