About Sokol

Sokol Melbourne Inc. is a non-profit Czech and Slovak community organisation founded in the 1970s, based at the historic Národní dům (National House) in North Melbourne. The venue runs the Bohemian Tavern, a medieval-hall-styled dining room serving traditional Czech and Slovak pub fare — including dumplings, pork schnitzel, roast duck, and Czech draft beer on tap — during monthly Sunday lunches and selected Friday evening dinners. The building also houses a concert and dance hall available for community events and private hire, and the club publishes a Czech-language magazine, Kvart, six times a year.
