About Red Spice Road

Red Spice Road is a long-running Melbourne CBD restaurant on Queen Street (relocated from McKillop Street; trading since 2007) under Australia’s largest red lantern, serving contemporary South East Asian share plates and banquet menus from executive chef John McLeay. What’s On Melbourne and the venue pitch communal dining with Asian-inspired cocktails and private rooms for groups. The lunch carte (Tue–Fri, pick 3/5/7 plates from $35/$45/$55 pp) and dinner banquets and à la carte lean Thai-leaning — pork belly with chilli caramel is the house mantra on-site and in diner reviews; lamb ribs with ginger BBQ, betel-leaf parcels, massaman and golden vegetable curries anchor published menus. OpenTable and the official site list Tue–Fri lunch and Tue–Sat dinner; book via OpenTable or (03) 9603 1601. A separate QV Artemis Lane spin-off traded at another address and is not this Queen Street venue.
