About Us
Melbourne CBD outpost of Hanoi's Pho Thin (13 Lò Đúc, operating since 1979), run by husband-and-wife franchisees Nguyen Lam and Duyen Le Ky — Australia's first branch outside Vietnam and the brand's second international site after Chatswood (Broadsheet, 2023; official site, 2026). Google Maps lists business_status OPERATIONAL at Shop 3/399 Lonsdale Street with 1,800+ ratings through June 2026; the compact Hardware Lane–entry shop ladles northern-style pho with clear broth, flat rice noodles, and generous spring onion and coriander — no southern-style herb plate on the side. Founder Nguyen Trong Thin's signature is beef flash-stir-fried in garlic before it hits the bowl (phở tái lăn / pho bo tai lan), alongside brisket and fatty brisket, red-wine beef stew pho, chicken breast or free-range chicken, tofu-and-vegetable pho, Ngự Bình–style spicy bun bo, and Hanoi spring rolls (official menu, 2026). Broadsheet notes optional raw egg yolk and long Chinese doughnuts for dipping; counter service, pay-first dining with overflow seating across the lane at peak lunch. Shares the Lonsdale building with Pho Sac (Shop 4). Dine-in hours on the official contact page are daily 10:30am–8:30pm; Google Maps and Wheree list 10:00am–8:45pm. Uber Eats marks the CBD store closed on the platform since October 2025 — a delivery-channel status, not evidence the dine-in shop has shut.
