About Ototo

Ototo is Akaiito's underground 'younger brother' on Flinders Lane — a dimly lit Japanese-inspired speakeasy bar and share-plate restaurant in the basement beneath the main dining room. The room runs izakaya-style booths and bar seating for cocktails, sake and whisky, with a menu built for sharing: raw kingfish sashimi and wagyu tataki, wok-fried salt and pepper sweet corn, robata Hokkaido dry-aged squid, signature 14-day dry aged duck (half or whole), and the house Ototo fried chicken with sweet gochujang and furikake. Feed-me set menus run $68, $88 or $108; weekend boozy bottomless brunch is $78pp (90 minutes, Sat–Sun 12pm–3pm per the official site). Dinner is served from 5pm daily (Google Maps lists until 11pm; the FAQ cites late drinks until about midnight — call ahead). Reservations run through OpenTable (embedded on the official site); walk-ins welcome subject to availability.
