About Original Chai Co
A family-run chai cafe inside Queen Victoria Market, founded by Apoorv and Gauri who grew up in India. The cafe specialises in authentic masala chai brewed from their mothers' recipes — black tea leaves simmered with ginger, cardamom, and milk, with no added sugars or artificial flavours. Alongside several chai variations (turmeric, chocolate, herbal, iced, affogato) and lassi, the menu offers Indian street-food snacks including samosas, egg rolls, shammi buns, and seekh roti wraps.

I tried the signature masala chai and was wowed by how pleasant it was, beautifully balanced and deeply comforting, especially on a cold winter night at the Winter Market. I also got the Royal Fairy Chai seved on a traditional clay cup.
