About Us

First Australian outpost of the Colombo-born Ministry of Crab brand (chef Dharshan Munidasa; cricketers Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene), opened April 2025 on level 1 of historic Invicta House on Flinders Lane after sellout Crown pop-ups in 2022 and 2024. The dimly lit dining room — orange-and-sea-green banquettes, velvet curtains and an open kitchen with an illuminated crab-size board — serves wild-caught Australian mud crab by weight (medium through two-kilogram Crabzilla; about $190 per kilogram per Good Food Guide) in pepper, garlic-chilli, curry and other sauces, with a front cocktail bar and small bites from the main menu. Victorian and Northern Territory mud crab replace Sri Lankan import under Australian quarantine. Groups of eight or more dine on the MOC set menu; reservations via the official online booking page with card guarantee ($70 per person cancellation fee). Sister charcoal seafood diner II.II.VI occupies the building’s subterranean level. Good Food Guide hat (15/20, updated Oct 2025).
