About Meso Bites

Compact Iraqi fusion kitchen on Degraves Street — one of the few non-Italian counters on the laneway, tucked beside Metro Burgers and Pidapipo. Owner-chef Felix runs a tiny dine-in room (roughly six to seven tables) with counter service, fresh grills from a small back kitchen, takeaway, and phone reservations. The menu leans Mesopotamian street food: sham quzi (lavosh-wrapped spiced rice with meatballs and almond, or a vegan parcel), kibbe plates on potato, rice or burghul, grilled meat bread, dolmas, lentil soup, tabsi eggplant, mixed grills and lamb, chicken or kofta shawarma wraps. Mains sit around $22–$26 on DoorDash (Jun 2026); recent Google and TripAdvisor reviews syndicated via MapQuest praise Felix's hospitality and the sham quzi. DoorDash still lists pickup and delivery with daily hours; Uber Eats has shown the store closed on that platform since late Nov 2025. The mesobites.com.au homepage was compromised with unrelated spam when checked Jun 2026 — do not treat the operator site alone as proof of trading status.
