About Us

Hatted bar-and-dining room in Red Hill South's village shopping strip on the Mornington Peninsula, now owned and led by Sri Lankan-born executive chef Gayan Pieris (ownership from Polperro, Dec 2025) with a modern Sri Lankan menu built from Polperro Farm produce a kilometre away. Hecker Guthrie's timber-and-brick interior splits into a walk-in bar (cocktails, Polperro and Even Keel wines, short eats) and a bookable dining room for chef's menus and à la carte — hopper thali, curries, sambols and bar snacks. One hat in The Age Good Food Guide 2025; Curtis Stone and Good Food critics praise the thali and spice work. Google Maps lists OPERATIONAL (Jun 2026). Dining Thu–Sun dinner from 5pm and Sat–Sun lunch 12–3pm; bar walk-ins Thu–Fri from 4pm and Sat–Sun from midday.
