Award-winning Malaysian hawker-style restaurant on Lonsdale Street in Melbourne's CBD (Koreatown), named after Kuala Lumpur's roadside mamak stalls serving Indian Malay street food. Melbourne opened in September 2012 after the Sydney originals; part of a multi-city chain (Sydney Chinatown, Chatswood, Parramatta and Brisbane). Diners come for fresh roti canai made to order — cooks stretch and toss the dough at the counter — with curry dips and sambal, plus charcoal satay, kari ayam and sayur, nasi lemak, mee goreng and pulled teh tarik. No-frills room with wooden tables and granite floors; walk-in dining with queues at peak.
