Lutong Pinoy is a long-running Filipino food stall inside Footscray Market, operated by Narcisa and her family for over a decade. The stall serves traditional home-style Filipino cooking — dishes like sisig, dinuguan, kare-kare, lechon kawali, palabok, and longanisa — at very affordable prices. Combo meals (two dishes and rice) have historically been around $10, drawing a loyal crowd of both the Filipino community and adventurous eaters.

This place inside Footscray Market takes me straight back to the Philippines, with the warm, familiar feel of a carinderia. The sisig, palabok, longganisa, and lumpia spring rolls are all worth trying, and the ginataan matamis and banana turon make a lovely sweet ending.
