About Lankan Tucker
Hiran Kroon and Nerissa Jayasingha's Sri Lankan–Melbourne café and food store inside College Square on Lygon Street — a tucked-in Lygon Street gem opposite VicRoads that replaced their Brunswick West brick-and-mortar after it closed at the end of 2024. Weekend brunch (Sat–Sun only) brings hoppers, kotthu roti, pan rolls and the cult biryani burrito alongside Melbourne café staples like the OGLT roti wrap; the retail fridges stock heat-and-eat curries, butter chicken pies and pantry chutneys while the team runs corporate and event catering through the week. Walk-in only, gluten-free options, no bookings.
From diners
I tried the Sri Lankan breakfast plate, which included a turmeric egg hopper, string hoppers, chickpea curry, coconut sambol, date chutney, and Sri Lankan sausage. The flavours were fine, but I was disappointed by the portion size for the price, especially when my friend’s lamprais with chicken curry looked so much more appealing.
