About Us
Ishizuka is a hidden basement kaiseki restaurant beneath 139 Bourke Street — a 16-seat counter room designed by Russell & George around a luminous white dome lantern, opened in 2018 and now led by Executive Chef Katsuji Yoshino (Good Food Guide two hats, 2025; Australia's Wine List of the Year three glasses, 2024). The nightly set menu (~11 courses, $315pp with $100pp deposit) follows Kaga-style kaiseki progression — sakizuke and zensai small plates, osuimono clear soup, otsukuri sashimi, grilled and simmered courses including signature kamo jibuni duck, shabu-shabu with A5 wagyu, and dessert — with optional wine ($250pp+) or non-alcoholic pairings ($90pp+). Entry is via a Bourke Street laneway intercom (B01) next to sister restaurant Oden; minimum age 12. Book via the official reservation page or OpenTable; groups of six or more by phone or reservation@ishizuka.com.au.
