About Us
One of Melbourne's oldest pubs — roots from 1852 beside the Princess Theatre on Bourke Street — the Imperial Hotel trades today as a ground-floor sports bar and pub kitchen with a rooftop beer garden overlooking Parliament House. Step through original Australian red cedar doors (What's On Melbourne) for beer and cider on tap, wines, big-screen sport and classic pub meals from schnitzels and burgers to steaks, salads and hearty mains; the rooftop serves share plates, cocktails and spritzes for pre- and post-theatre crowds. History page cites Richardson's Imperial Hotel from 1863 and one of Melbourne's earliest liquor licences. The homepage announces the newly renovated rooftop is back and open (Jun 2026), with rooftop events such as The Rooftop Shout on 10 June; ground-floor bar and dining remain open daily from 11am. Book tables via SevenRooms; functions and rooftop enquiries via the contact page.
