About Us
Counter-service Egyptian falafel shop on Victoria Street beside Coburg Library in the pedestrian mall, opened by Nabil Hassan in 2003 after emigrating from Egypt in 1983. Falafel are made to order from fava beans (not chickpeas), fried in the front window and built into named wraps or plates with house pickles, tabouli, hummus, garlic yoghurt and optional fried eggplant, cauliflower or halloumi. Outdoor courtyard seating; no alcohol. Halal-certified and vegetarian-friendly with vegan options on request (HappyCow). Editorial guides cite sub-$10 lunches, long weekday queues and baklava in pistachio, walnut and cashew. No dedicated own-domain restaurant website found on attempt 0 — halfmoonkb.com is an unrelated US venue; the Central Coburg trader directory listing is the precinct’s primary web contact for the shop.
