Hakoya Izakaya has been a Lonsdale Street izakaya in Melbourne CBD since 2019 — a refined, booth-friendly room for contemporary Japanese shared plates, sashimi boats, cheese-stuffed tonkatsu, donburi, nabe and udon, with sake and wine pairings. Regular dinner service is walk-in only (the official site does not take standard table bookings); function packages and private booths for groups of six or more can be arranged via contact. Expect queues at peak times. Mon–Sat 5:30pm–11:00pm; Sun 5:30pm–10:00pm, with the kitchen closing one hour before the listed close.
