Family-run Thornbury kalamaki souvlaki shop on High Street opposite Carwyn Cellars, trading as Greek Street Food by Kara's Kalamaki. Owner George Karanikos launched as a roaming Melbourne food truck in 2013 and settled into this permanent brick-and-mortar site in 2017 after 18 months scouting the strip. Counter-service souvas (The Cluck, The Mix, The Veggie and meat-named wraps), Pax skewer platters, Greek salads and oregano-dusted chips are grilled to order in fluffy pita with house tzatziki; the Therefore Studio fit-out keeps food-truck DNA in a Banksy-style mural, with casual kid-friendly dine-in and a fully licensed drinks list (ouzo and house wine).
