About El Jannah
Lebanese-Australian charcoal and fried chicken on Swanston Street in the CBD, a short walk from Flinders Street Station and Swanston tram stops near the Little Collins Street intersection. The Western Sydney-born chain’s Melbourne city shop (grand opening 27 June 2025) flame-grills halal charcoal chicken over real charcoal, hand-breads fried chicken pieces and tenders, and pairs both with its cult garlic sauce, chicken-salted chips, and Beirut-style pickles. Menu spans quarter and half birds, family boxes, crispy and grilled chicken burgers, on-the-go rolls (charcoal chicken, tawouk, falafel, hot chip), sesame pockets, fattoush and tabouli, and baklawa desserts. Dine-in, pickup, and delivery via the El Jannah app plus Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Menulog. Daily from 10am; Mon–Wed and Sun until midnight, Thu–Sat until 2am — expect queues at weekday lunch peaks.
From diners
My first charcoal chicken here was a standout — full of flavour and great value, and it instantly won me over. I’ve become a regular since, often matching my chicken with kaki, a Lebanese sesame pocket that rounds out the meal perfectly.
