Cairo By Nights is a halal-certified Egyptian restaurant on Carlton's Lygon Street, run by a family of Egyptian chefs who bring traditional techniques from Cairo. The menu spans clay-pot tagens slow-cooked with apricots and spices, charcoal-grilled kofta and mixed platters, koshari, molokhia, seafood dishes, and Egyptian desserts such as Om Ali. Friday through Sunday evenings feature live belly dancing performances from 9 pm, and a terrace shisha lounge overlooks the street.
