Open since 1982, Black Cat is a Fitzroy institution occupying a heritage corner building at 252 Brunswick Street. The bar stocks a rotating selection of local craft beers on tap, hand-picked spirits, cocktails, and local coffee, alongside a small menu of seasonal snacks with strong vegetarian options. The interior mixes vintage lounge furniture, local artwork exhibitions (free for artists, zero commission), regular DJ nights, and one of the better beer gardens on Brunswick Street.
