About Asado
San Telmo Group's 250-seat Argentinian bar y grill on Riverside Quay, centred on an open fire pit and three-metre charcoal parrilla for O'Connor's beef, Gippsland lamb and Western Plains pork, with Spanish-leaning tapas, empanadas and Mendoza malbec. Executive chef Oliver Gould leads the kitchen; book online via the site (parties of eight or more on set menus). Google Maps lists the venue as operational with daily lunch and dinner service (Jun 2026).
From diners
I’ve dined here twice, and I remember when I had the Asado set menu. I enjoyed every course, from the empanada, tartare, and cochinillo to the true highlight of the meal, the succulent tapa de cuadril steak, cooked over an open wood-fired parrilla grill. With chimichurri, a glass of malbec, and a silky flan to finish, it was an unforgettable dining experience. I also couldn’t resist taking home an alfajor, one of my favourite sweet discoveries from my earlier trips to Argentina.
